Tips for getting best search results:

Use one very specific keyword or two fairly specific terms.
If you enter one broad term as a search keyword (example: heart), you may get thousands of documents. If you use a more specific term (example: angioplasty) you get a smaller number of relevant documents.
In most cases, however, you would get best results by asking for two terms with "and", for example: heart and aspirin. In that case you would get documents each of which is relevant to both "heart" and "aspirin", that is, likely to deal with effect of aspirin on heart.
If one term is composed of two or more words, it should be quoted, like: women and "chest pain". However such quoted terms are recommended only if one word would be way too general; normally we suggest shortening long terms of several words to just one word.
Avoid usage very general words as terms.

If usage of two terms gives less than 50 documents, we suggest asking again with just one term.
For example, by asking for strabismus and child you may have gotten too few results -- try just one term: strabismus. (Do not use a very general term like "child" alone -- you will be swamped.) More than two terms would normally give you too few relevant results, and, thus, is counterproductive except in rare special circumstances.
